– The 2015 24H SERIES powered by Hankook had a very successful start with the tenth anniversary edition of the Hankook 24H DUBAI, but now, it is on to Italy for the second round. The Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, beautifully located in the rolling hills of Tuscany, will be the venue for the second running of the Hankook 12H ITALY-MUGELLO on 13 and 14 March, 2015. Currently, over 50 teams have already registered to participate in the twelve-hour race. Like last year, will again be split up into two parts with the first four hours of racing on Friday and the remainder of the race on Saturday, with parc fermé conditions in between.
With FIA International Series status having been granted to the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, the race in Italy will no longer be a stand-alone event as there will be points at stake as well. Many teams already have signed up to race in all the rounds of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. The drivers’, teams’ and Ladies’ Cup points standings after the season opener in Dubai can be found online at: www.24hseries.com/series/standings.
Last year, the fast and flowing Mugello circuit proved to be very popular with the drivers and the beautiful Tuscany region needs no further introduction. “Italy has a rich motoring heritage and it is a pleasure for us to have a race of our series there. Especially at Mugello, in the region that already had its first race on the old road circuit as early as 1914,” says Gerrie Willems om behalf of CREVENTIC. The Dutch agency is promoter and organiser of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook in co-operation with the Dutch National Racing Team (DNRT).
Hankook will be involved as the official tyre supplier and title sponsor of the race at Mugello for the first time. Radio Show Limited, well-known from Radio Le Mans, will be present to provide on-site commentary.
